Diaries and notebook, 1818-1822.

Travel diaries and notebook of Sarah Hazard Howland kept during the summers of 1818-1822 when traveling with her husband John Hicks Howland through New York State, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. The brief entries note the number of miles traveled, places visited, cost of meals and accommodations, the names of places they ate or stayed at, and terse comments about the latter. Notebook, covering the months Aug.-Sept. 1821, contains an additional list of travel expenses and genealogical data related to the Howland family.
